How do I apply for jobs anonymously?
You can look for work anonymously by making a profile on Emploi. While companies browse profiles, your name, photo and contact details do not show. You send no applications: you fill in one profile, companies find it and can ask to contact you.
What a company sees
A company sees your trade, the area you want to work in, the shifts that suit you, your availability, permits, length of experience and languages. It does not see your name, photo or contact details.
When your name shows
A company can send you a contact request. One credit, the company's unit of payment, is held for it, but not spent yet. You have 48 hours to accept or decline. Only when you accept does the company see your name and contact details. If you decline, or do not answer in time, the company does not see them and the credit goes back to it.
Other ways to look for work anonymously
The public sector already has anonymous recruitment, for example Kuntarekry and the City of Helsinki. Työmarkkinatori offers an unnamed profile. Emploi is narrower: the profile is anonymous by default, and it is for work in the private sector.
What Emploi does not do
Emploi has no job list, and you are not matched to a vacancy. Companies look for workers among the profiles. Emploi is not a staffing agency and not a public CV database.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to send applications?
No. You fill in one profile. Companies find it and can ask to contact you. You do not apply anywhere.
Can my current employer see me?
Your name, photo and contact details do not show until you accept a request. The profile does still show a trade, an area and experience. Share only what you want to share.
What if I do not want to answer a contact request?
You can decline it or leave it unanswered. Then the company does not get your name or contact details.
Does it cost anything to make a profile?
No. The profile is free for the job seeker.
